Hipsters

I don’t like this whole “hipster” fad. The label is beginning to apply to anything in the mildest bit artistic, and it really bothers me. Listening to music other than Kesha, Lil Wayne, or Coldplay doesn’t make someone a hipster. What’s hipster-ey is listening to noisy synths over sitar drones in an odd time signature and acting like a music elitist for it.

Taking pictures also doesn’t make someone a hipster. When did photography become a hipster thing?! What would be hipster-ey is taking pictures from a homemade cardboard-box camera. Lastly, hipsters don’t own plaid. Other people like plaid, too (see lumberjacks, construction workers, plumbers, Scottish people). A plaid-donning hipster might also wear skinny jeans and a scarf (even in the spring). The only thing that I am okay with hipsters “having” is PBR. That stuff sucks.

Charts I Made Last Semester

I made these last semester and never got around to posting them.

Chart 1 depicts the inverse relationship of coffee and alcohol consumption throughout the semester.

Chart 2 is self explanatory, although looking back, I may have overestimated actual studying.

Chart 3 shows the gradual decrease in motivation throughout a semester.  The peak near the end right before finals, and then you realize that you're going to do badly anyway.
